Working in collaboration with St. Pauls year 8 and 9 Artsmark students

“The best way to learn is to do it yourself”

Sarah is a strong believer that the best way to teach the young people she works with is by letting them take ownership and learn by participation with the whole process with her guidance. Students that had signed up to Artsmark were given the opportunity to take the day off timetable and work with Sarah to create this mosaic in a day. Sarah gave a presentation about her work as a Artist and talked about her passion, mosaic spending the whole day activity working with all the students whilst they helped to make the mosaic and also to add to their own portfolio of work for their individual Bronze Arts Award.

"25 creative students from St Paul’s Catholic School got the amazing opportunity to work with Honey Mosaics as part of their Bronze Arts Award. For this unique project, the students created a Mosaic of the school’s ethos. ‘Love. Serve. Do the best that is possible.’ This meaningful ethos was created in specific colours to represent what the St Paul’s Community is all about. Orange represents Passion, Blues suggests Love, Yellow shows friendships, and Purple represents strength and power. This was an amazing opportunity for the students to learn a new skill and be able to share these skills with others as part of their Arts Award. Thank you so much for this opportunity to work with you. It was amazing!”
