ARTIST STATEMENT

A lot of my mosaic work is collaborative and the design is often influenced by the working method I adopt and that is design that pulls from multiple artists that I am working with, often these artists are very young and I feel this in turn creates a playful artwork. My ultimate goal when I am working with others is to create public art that will stop the viewer in their tracks and allow them to take that moment to escape, to wonder and to most importantly to imagine. Of course though I am highly driven and motivated by being given the privileged opportunity to be in a position to be able to inspire those that work with me, I always aim to install pride to all for and to teach others of the wonders of what can be made when multiple creative minds come together.

I describe my own personal Art as always rich in texture, form and style, the natural world and the connection that we have as humans with it is important to me. You will see to within my work that I am drawn to vivid colour; this in turn becomes a huge influence over what I create in mosaic.

Mosaic is my passion and I feel fortunate to have found such a versatile and varied medium that has allowed me to find a creative outlet that has challenged my style and allowed for growth in my practice whilst I feel that I have the freedom to evolve as I continue to learn.

I am committed to creating long lasting high quality pieces of public art that can allow me to ultimately share my passion with others.
